In 1943, the 9th of September frees Corsica itself. The strategic situation of Corsica middle western Mediterranean sea makes it the keystone of allies'plans .
It's covered by seventeen air force areas, which give it affectionate nickname U.S.S. Corsica according of American air and sea buildings.
So thousands young combatants of many different nationalities discover the island.
It's the first contact with old Europe for american aviators.
Collected here accounts, memories, photographies of bombers' camps of Migliacciaru, Alisgiani, Sulinzara and Ghisunaccia offer an original dive to the Second Mondial War heart.
